Urban Energy Garden was launched in 2017 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Since UEG's inception, UEG has partnered with other nonprofit organizations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia to provide young leaders with scholarships and opportunities to serve the community.
Our mission is to improve disadvantaged communities by developing leaders and educating the public on sustainable energy and technology.
Urban communities suffer a disproportionate risk of vulnerability to pollutants, energy and food price shocks, and displacement. At UEG, we strive to empower these disadvantaged communities by developing leaders (our fruit) in the environmental health and technology arena (our garden). By equipping young leaders with opportunities to learn and serve in the environmental and technological arena, we can minimize the risk of vulnerability and improve the quality of life for future generations.
